The Village PieMaker
Judith Ogden Larsen learned to make pies from her grandmother at age 10. She sold her handmade pies along Interstate 80, and soon customers, grocery stores and coffee shops began calling to order. From a quaint brick creamery in Eustis, NB, to nationwide distribution, the signature hand-made crust and the company's motto: “No canned stuff” have not changed. But their website needed to evolve to handle the growing number of orders. This makeover simplified content and navigation, created a visual catalog for the pie shop, and focused attention on images of luscious pie. Multiple areas with a call-to-action pull visitors right into the pie shop and drive sales. The site is built on a Shopify Framework. Pie of the Month club is frequently given as a gift, and we wanted the packaging to reflect something special. Custom stickers are placed on the outside of the shipping package and on the inside foil liner to create excitement and make it feel like a gift. Inside the wrapping is the "Conversation Starter" card which gives trivia and history about the month's special pie, and offers suggested accompaniments.
